12. What are Usage fees and what do I need to know about them?Usage Fees Explained 1. Definition Usage fees are charges that apply to how you intend to use the images or videos we create for you. These fees ensure that the content is used in a way that aligns with its value and the work involved in producing it. 2. Difference Between Creation and Usage: It's important to note that the fee for the photography or videography itself covers the creative process, including the shoot, editing, and post-production. Usage fees are separate and based on how you plan to utilize the content. 3. Examples of Usage Types: Usage can vary widely and includes factors such as: - Geographic Scope: Local, regional, national, or international usage. - Duration: How long you intend to use the images or videos. - Media Type: Online (social media, websites), print (menus, ads), broadcast (TV, video ads). - Exclusivity: Whether you want exclusive rights or if the content can be used by others. 4. Benefits: These fees help protect the value of the work and ensure that it’s used appropriately. They also allow us to continue creating high-quality content for you and other clients. We’d be happy to go over your specific project and how usage fees would apply based on your intended use. This way, we can create a tailored agreement that meets your needs and budget.
